FULLY FUNDED

We have had 6 class sets of tickets for a field trip to Crystal Cave and two buses fully funded through Donors Choose. We will give you more information on this field trip in the coming months. (We won't be going until April)

Donors Choose is a website I started using last year to supplement my classroom budget. Through this I have been able to receive two bookshelves, bulletin border, staplers, magnets, packing peanuts for our bean bag chairs, a pencil sharpener, and now this field trip! Donors from all over the world have supported our classroom in Spooner, Wisconsin! (Disney and Direct TV have even matched donations!) To date these generous donors have given over $1400.

If you're interested in seeing other projects in Spooner, Wisconsin visit www.donorschoose.org. On the left side you can search Wisconsin, then Spooner. Currently there are nine Spooner teacher projects on here. Thanks for all your support and we are very excited to take your children on a great experience to Crystal Cave!

Here is our newest classroom project: Book bins for our books! It currently is half off thanks to Quill.com and you can use the match code: DISNEY at check out until January 3rd. http://www.donorschoose.org/project/welcome-to-our-library-wait-wheres-tha/1158035/?rf=link_dccontent_2013_12_teacherid_1537949&challengeid=251476

Donors Choose - Field Trip Part 2

I've just posted a project for three more sets of tickets for a field trip to Crystal Cave. Our first three sets and a bus have been fully funded already. For the next week a match code of DISNEY can be entered to match any donation. Please pass on to any family or friends. What a perfect gift to third grade! All gifts are tax-deductible.

UNIQUE MATCH! We also received a half off match. That means that if you donate within the next week and use the match code: DISNEY, this will only cost $100, 1/3 of the cost!

What a Great Week!

Wow! This week just zipped on by! We had lots of fun things going on this week and we learned a lot!

On Thursday we earned our month reward and had Wii time. These pictures are from our fun afternoon:

On Friday we performed our play for our parents, families, and friends. Below you'll find a few links to some neat pictures and videos.

A special thank you goes to Mr. Kern and his family and all their hard work to put this play together. He truly does an awesome job!

I'd also like to thank the Tice family for their video of the play. For some reason my technology didn't quite work! If you'd like a DVD copy of the play, look for a note next week.

All Rested!

I hope you feel rested and enjoyed the time off from school. I know that I thoroughly enjoyed some time with my two little ones, although I missed each student very much!

Last week was an exciting week! Family Math Day was a huge success. Click the link to view pictures from the day taken by a volunteer! Family Math Day 2013.

We also had a poison control presentation last week. Mrs. Wiemeri did a wonderful job reminding us what poisons are.

We are already in the groove of this week. You can review our newsletter and spelling words below.

  • We earned our March reward. During the last hour of the day on Thursday we will be having free time on Nintendo Wiis (courtesy of myself and Mr. Gibson). Your child is welcome to bring in a school appropriate game if he or she would like. We could also use 1 or 2 more Wii remotes if you are willing
  • Our 2nd grade play is on Friday at 1:00. I hope to see each of you there. They have been working really hard!!! I will post the video and pictures on here next week.
Two weeks ago we had stone soup. I forgot to post the pictures then, so they are here now. Enjoy!
