On Tuesday I brought my favorite treat, pickles. Some students chose not to eat them, but those who did, loved them! I thoroughly enjoy a "Pickle on a Stick!"

Our Wordles!

We made these on www.wordle.net! They are words that describe who we are or what we like!

Brr...It's cold outside!

Sorry this so very late. It seems as though a very cold Tuesday start got me a little off balance.

High Five For Fairness

Today we had our High Five For Fairness march. We marched around chanting, "High Five For Fairness" and "1,2,3,4, Fairness, Fairness." It was a wonderful reminder to be fair to each other. Here are some pictures from the event:

Be sure to ask your child about it and how they have learned to be fair!

Friendly Letters

My students have been working on friendly letters throughout the past six weeks. This week we wrote a friendly letter, had it proofread, wrote a final draft, and recorded our letters on the iPad. Here are our recordings!

What a week!

It is a busy week this week with Quarter 2 ending. The week is full of assessments and sorts, but I know all students are prepared! Please help your child by having them get plenty of rest and eat great meals. Thanks in advance!

Just a note, I will be out of the classroom on Tuesday, but I have a wonderful substitute teacher in my place.

Our New Bookshelves

A big thank you goes out to our five donors who helped put new bookshelves in our classroom. The amount of extra space we now have to read and move is amazing. Feel free to stop in and check them out!

Class thumbs up to bookshelves!

Here are some pictures of us in action:

We are raising funds for more staplers (3D art projects, writing drafts, etc.), new permanent markers (art projects and writing), magnets (math on the board), book bins (organization), and black bulletin board (a friendly environment). A gift of any amount is appreciated! All gifts are tax-deductible.

Mrs. Smith's Recommended Apps

I've noticed that quite a few of my students have access to iPads, iPhones, etc. Here is a list of apps that I can recommend. Best of all, they are all FREE. Take a peek!

It's 2013

It is 2013 and we are already busy in room 121.

This week we have a lot of exciting things going on, so be sure to check them out on our newsletter: Newsletter 1-2 to 1-4

No spelling words this week. Instead we are playing Scattegories!

Be sure to check out the Christmas Program post and download the pictures and videos. Videos will only be available online until January 15th.

Lastly, continue to read our "Students in Room 121" blog posts. The tab is located at the top of this page. My students write 10 things that they did each week, every week!
