The Time Is Moving Too Quick

The end of the school year is fast approaching. Please keep an eye out for important information each day. This week's newsletter can be found by clicking here.

End of the year note! Mrs. Smith’s class 2014-2015

Cable Natural History Museum Field Trip – Wednesday, May 27^th – LAKES ALIVE!

Please return your ½ sheet, peach colored photo permission form that was sent home on Tuesday.
Remember a sack lunch if you signed up to bring one.
Wear tennis shoes and bring with a light jacket or sweatshirt.
We will wear our tie dye t-shirts that are at school.

Economics Fair – Friday, May 29^th – For students and teachers only

The ticket slip that was sent home last Friday is due Thursday, May 28^th. Students can earn 2 tickets at home.
Students will earn a 3^rd ticket at school.

Parent & Family Lunch – Tuesday, June 2^nd 11:30-1:30

You are invited to come in from 11:30-1:30 to enjoy lunch and games with our class.
Please feel free to bring with siblings.
Arrive any time between 11:30 and 12:30 to eat lunch with your child. (If you need to arrive late or leave early, that is fine)
Stay after eating and enjoy yard games. (In the event of rain, we will eat indoors)
Please feel free to bring in any yard games. I will be bringing bean bag toss, ladder ball, bocce ball, and a Frisbee.
Fill out the form below as to whether you will bring a lunch for you and your child or whether your child will be having school lunch.

3^rd Grade Olympics – Thursday, June 4^th – 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

You are invited to come in to cheer on our classes as we participate in 3^rd grade Olympics
If you arrive after 1:00, we will be in the soccer field directly north of the Elementary School, just below the baseball field. You must check in at the ES office. Student

Banana Split Multiplication and Division Party – Thursday, June 4th at 2:15. (Corrected Date)

Last day of school – June 5^th – Early Release

Students will be bringing home many items in the next week. Please let me know if your child will not be attending the last day of school, so that we can accommodate.
It is important that your child is here every day for the next eight days. We have units to complete and activities to take part in. Every day is filled with wonderful learning opportunities!

All about me

About Mrs. Smith: Mrs. Smith grew up in Barron, Wisconsin where she graduated from Barron Senior High School. She got married shortly after high school to her husband, Sam. They moved to Superior, Wisconsin where Mrs. Smith began college at the University of Minnesota Duluth. There Mrs. Smith began studying elementary education right away. She worked in multiple classrooms from Kindergarten to 8th grade. Mrs. Smith had her first son, Noah during college and her daughter, Isabelle, shortly after graduating college. For a year after college she substitute taught in local schools in the Duluth and Superior area and worked at a restaurant. When she was hired at Spooner Elementary her family bought a house in Wascott and moved. In 2011-2012 Mrs. Smith taught her first year as a Spooner 3rd grade teacher. In 2012-2013 Mrs. Smith was a 2nd grade teacher. She started teaching 3rd grade again in the 2013-2014 school year. Mrs. Smith had her 3rd child, Jonah, in December of 2013. She also coached volleyball. Her family moved to Sarona in 2014. In October of 2016 Mrs. Smith had Annabelle! She is now starting her 7th year at Spooner Elementary School. She loves teaching 3rd grade! She has a passion for teaching and her students.

Mrs. Smith has a large family. She has three brothers, six sister-in-laws, and a brother-in-law. She has seven nephews and seven nieces. Her parents and in-laws still reside in Barron, Wisconsin.

Besides teaching Mrs. Smith enjoys scrapbooking, being involved in her church, enjoying the outdoors, being with family, playing board games, volleyball, and flavored coffee.
