It feels like Spring!

We're off to a great week! Sorry about not posting last week...it seems it was a busy, fun packed week!

This week

We are starting a new unit this week: Taking Care of Ourselves. Our essential questions is: Why should we support our opinions with reasons? We will learn all about taking care of ourselves and our body system.

What a Great Week!

Wow! This week just zipped on by! We had lots of fun things going on this week and we learned a lot!

On Thursday we earned our month reward and had Wii time. These pictures are from our fun afternoon:

All Rested!

I hope you feel rested and enjoyed the time off from school. I know that I thoroughly enjoyed some time with my two little ones, although I missed each student very much!

We also had a poison control presentation last week. Mrs. Wiemeri did a wonderful job reminding us what poisons are.

Some important notes:

We earned our March reward. During the last hour of the day on Thursday we will be having free time on Nintendo Wiis (courtesy of myself and Mr. Gibson). Your child is welcome to bring in a school appropriate game if he or she would like. We could also use 1 or 2 more Wii remotes if you are willing
Our 2nd grade play is on Friday at 1:00. I hope to see each of you there. They have been working really hard!!! I will post the video and pictures on here next week.

Two weeks ago we had stone soup. I forgot to post the pictures then, so they are here now. Enjoy!

All about me

About Mrs. Smith: Mrs. Smith grew up in Barron, Wisconsin where she graduated from Barron Senior High School. She got married shortly after high school to her husband, Sam. They moved to Superior, Wisconsin where Mrs. Smith began college at the University of Minnesota Duluth. There Mrs. Smith began studying elementary education right away. She worked in multiple classrooms from Kindergarten to 8th grade. Mrs. Smith had her first son, Noah during college and her daughter, Isabelle, shortly after graduating college. For a year after college she substitute taught in local schools in the Duluth and Superior area and worked at a restaurant. When she was hired at Spooner Elementary her family bought a house in Wascott and moved. In 2011-2012 Mrs. Smith taught her first year as a Spooner 3rd grade teacher. In 2012-2013 Mrs. Smith was a 2nd grade teacher. She started teaching 3rd grade again in the 2013-2014 school year. Mrs. Smith had her 3rd child, Jonah, in December of 2013. She also coached volleyball. Her family moved to Sarona in 2014. In October of 2016 Mrs. Smith had Annabelle! She is now starting her 7th year at Spooner Elementary School. She loves teaching 3rd grade! She has a passion for teaching and her students.

Mrs. Smith has a large family. She has three brothers, six sister-in-laws, and a brother-in-law. She has seven nephews and seven nieces. Her parents and in-laws still reside in Barron, Wisconsin.

Besides teaching Mrs. Smith enjoys scrapbooking, being involved in her church, enjoying the outdoors, being with family, playing board games, volleyball, and flavored coffee.
