We've been building space ships to fit onto our Dash robot for the past two weeks. Today we got to try them out. Here is the video of our space ships "flying." We had a blast working together with our teams and using many different materials.

This week we've been learning about biomes, ecosystems, food chains, and food webs. Last week we finished up our space unit. You'll see our astronauts and our out of this world stories, along with our food chains we made today. We've been doing a great job!

We made this food web together. We didn't get all the connections made because we ran out of time, but it was neat to see how food chains and food webs work.

Americorps Planting

We planted peppers to go into the growing cart for the next two months until they can go to the outside garden. We learned a lot about peppers too!

Live Bald Eagle Video

This live bald eagle video fits in nicely with our biome and ecosystem unit. Check it out at home!

Virtual Field Trip to Peru

Today we took a live virtual field trip to Peru to learn about the coastal ecosystem. We learned a lot and got to ask a lot of questions.

You can watch the video by Nature Works here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuQlKtJnGN8

Mrs. Smith also took a quick video of the class while they were on the virtual field trip:

Snow Day?!?

In December we received shovels, snow block builders and Sno-art kits through generous donors on DonorsChoose.org. We've been using them every recess, but today Mrs. Smith realized that they snow was almost gone and we still needed thank you pictures to show our donors! We headed outside at the end of the day to the only patch of snow left and had some fun! We decorated the snow with art and had fun playing in the snow in the sunshine. It was a great way to end a great week!
