A Cold Start, But Happy Inside

It is cold outside, but we are happy inside.

This week's newsletter: click here.

Last Friday we had a Rails Rally for Ms. Marla. Below are photos and video from that. It is sad to see her go, but we are excited for her retirement.

Tellagami

Today we created Tellagamis to explain how we solved a 3 digit by 3 digit subtraction problem. Technology is fun and so is subtracting!

We've been busy the past two weeks!

On Rails Rally Friday we took a whole grade level picture in our tie dye shirts and a class picture!

Fernando and Eliah pose for perfect attendance from Quarter 2!

On Kindergarten Career Day we also had reading buddies, so we stopped to snap some pictures after we read:

Last week we also walked 100 steps with our reading buddies. Here we are counting down the halls!

We're off to a great start! I enjoyed meeting with each of you during conferences. Please continue to follow up with any questions or concerns. I am very proud of the gains all students have made.

Also if you haven't looked at the Students in Room 124 blog in awhile, please check it out. I fixed the issue that was not allowing you to see it. They have been doing a great job!

On Friday we met with our Reading buddies from Ms. Schmidt's room. They were dressed up in their career outfits, so we took some fun pictures! Click here to see them.

Dear Parents,
Tomorrow your child will have a Spooner Rails t-shirt at school to wear. They will get to change into this shirt at school for our Rails Rally day, a time to celebrate our school. As teachers we will then collect and wash your child’s Spooner Rails tie dyed t-shirt, so that they will have them for specific grade level days; field trips, Econ fair, Olympics day. After our last event of the year, your child’s t-shirt will come home for them to keep.

We just wanted to let you know that these t-shirts were generously funded by 73 donors on Donors Choose. A total of $791 was given to fully fund this project! These t-shirts were then screen printed through Anthony Walter Designs of Spooner. We tie dyed them together on Monday.

Donors Choose gives us this terrific opportunity! If you’d like to see other projects on Donors Choose in our school, visit www.donorschoose.org/mrssmith121, http://www.donorschoose.org/kfizel, or www.donorschoose.org/lrubesch.

We hope they enjoy this t-shirt     for many moments to come. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you,

J Mrs. Smith, Mr. Gibson, Mrs. Rubesch, Mrs. Fizel, and Mrs. Gores

Behavior Luau

Last Friday students earned a Luau. We played multiplication bingo and tried some fun Hawaiian food. We also got to get our picture taken with a lei, grass skirt and sunglasses! I'm proud of how hard students are working on their behavior each day.

Flat Stanley visited our Luau from Rice, MN
