Saying Goodbye is Hard

Today was Haylee's last day. We will miss her greatly, but know that sometimes moves have to happen. We enjoyed cupcakes together and freeze pops!

Math Stations

We did math stations yesterday. Each station had something to do with area, perimeter, or tangrams.

Earth Day Breakout Edu

Students used clues to find out who the Litterbug was! Each clue took teamwork, math skills, and detective work. I am amazed at how hard they work. Two teams broke out at about the same time!

Earth Day

Earth Day was a great day! We did many different activities.

Dirt mud and worms

At the end of the day we went outside with our Farm to School coordinators and HS FFA students. We worked in the garden, learned about butterflies, and made seed bombs.

Thanks to Wal-mart and Burpee we were able to plant sunflowers. We took these home to give away to someone in the spirit of Earth Day!

We also started an Earth Day Breakout Edu and will be finishing it today! It was very challenging. We are trying to find the litterbug.

Ice Cream Reward

In the past few weeks we earned a whole class reward. Thank you to the parents that brought in ice cream and toppings. We enjoyed taking our cold treat outside!

Breakout Edu

Today we did a BreakoutEdu (www.breakoutedu.com) created by Mrs. Smith. Basically there was a clue to get into every locked box. Students had to solve the clue and figure out the combination from the clue. Together they solved all six clues in 27 minutes! I will work on editing the video on Monday and share it with you. It was really neat to listen to them work together and think about what the lock combinations could be. The clues involved area, biomes, puzzles, spelling secret code, place value, and time. The locks each have a different way of opening. One is a key, one has a 3 digit number code, one has a 4 digit number code, one has a 5 digit letter code, one has a 4 digit letter code, one is a carabineer style with a 3 digit number code, one is a traditional lock, and we even have a directional lock. I'm sure your children will tell you even more about it!

Today was Drop Everything And Read Day! We had some fun events too!

Tansy P is our T.A. and is headed to state forensics this weekend! She did her forensics skit. It was a story from Junie B Jones!

At the end of the day we headed outside and dropped everything and read!
